Front Brakes Empty Front Brakes

Post by ICD Thu Aug 13, 2009 11:38 am

I finally got my hands on a set of front brake pads for my new car today. I had to get them on a special order cause they are the bigger kind the same as are on the elantra. Tomorrows the big day Im putting them in, starting early so I have enough time to properly run them in and do all my errands before it gets dark.

The reason Im changing them is because of a god awful screaming every time I apply the brake, no big deal. They arent metal to metal otherwise they would be grinding and rough as guts. I'll keep you posted tomorrow about how it went and the condition of the old pads.

Front Brakes Empty Re: Front Brakes

Well, got her done. It actually came apart and went together quite easily, I love working on newer cars. One problem. The brake pads supercheap auto supplied were the fucking wrong ones, so I had to get a lift up to Klosters and get a genuine part for convenience of finishing it today.

The old pads were worn down to the anti rattle spring and that was scraping against the disc as the spring was slightly worn. No noticeable damage to the rotors.

Heaps smoother, pulls up hard and no noise now!

Yay
